Building a Strong Drama Program - Part I.

Published by rvan at 6:06 pm under Purposes and Practices Edit This

In order to develop a strong dramatic program, there needs to be a calling in the church to develop a dramatic program.  If there is not a draw or desired need to incorporate dramas into the services, then adding for the sake of keeping up appearances, or conformity with other church services, or even for the seekers that frequent the church may not be the answer.  Developing a strong drama program requires the calling, the need, and the desire to promote dramas into the services; in essence, infusing drama as a ministry tool, such as other worship practices are infused.  By viewing drama at its core, what it essentially is capable of, and meant to do, then the church will be able to fully integrate it, support it, and craft it into each service.  Fundamentally, drama then will be able to be viewed as a ministry tool that will draw the congregation into closer devotion, worship, and connection with God.  When the calling is present, it must be acted upon, which will be the focus of the next segment, Building a Strong Drama Program - Part II.
